Spiders are fascinating creatures that belong to the class Arachnida and are known for their eight legs, fangs, and ability to produce silk. With over 48,000 identified species, they inhabit diverse environments ranging from forests and deserts to urban areas. Unlike insects, which have three body segments, spiders have two: the cephalothorax and the abdomen. These spider coloring pages can be a fun way for kids and adults to learn about different species in a fun, creative activity.

Fun Crafts to Do with Spider Coloring Pages

The fun doesn't have to stop once you have finished your spider coloring pages. You can turn them into engaging crafts that make the most of your creative activity. Here are some fun and inventive ideas to repurpose those spider drawings once they’re completed.

1. Web Window Clings

Turn your colored spider pages into spooky window decorations that are perfect for Halloween or a creepy-crawly theme. To make these clings, you'll need clear plastic sheets, scissors, and double-sided tape. Start by cutting out the spider designs from the coloring pages. Place the cut-out spiders between two pieces of plastic sheets, securing them together with double-sided tape. Trim any excess plastic around the edges. To adhere the spiders to your windows, use small pieces of tape or static cling by lightly moistening the plastic.

2. Spider Garland

Decorate a room with a creepy spider garland. This craft requires colored spider cut-outs, a hole punch, string, and glue. Cut out the spiders from your coloring pages and punch a hole at the top of each one. Thread a piece of string through the holes, spacing the spiders evenly across the length of the string. Secure each spider in place with a dot of glue. Hang the garland across a wall, doorway, or mantel for a festive touch.

3. Spider-Themed Party Hats

Get creative with party accessories by making spider-themed hats. The materials required include colored spider pages, a stapler, scissors, tape, and string or elastic bands. Cut out spider shapes and set them aside. Then, create cone-shaped hats from construction paper, adjusting the size to fit the head. Tape or staple the ends to hold the cone shape. Attach the spider cut-outs to the hats using glue or tape, and add a string or elastic band to secure the hats under the chin.

4. Jar Lanterns

Create eerie lanterns using your spider coloring pages. You will need mason jars, scissors, glue, a paintbrush, and LED tea lights. Cut out the spider designs and set them aside. Apply a layer of glue to the outside of the jar using a paintbrush, then carefully place the spider cut-outs onto the jar, smoothing out any wrinkles. Once the glue is dry, place an LED tea light inside the jar to illuminate the spider designs.
